 Assistant Manager – Accounts & Finance for Beauty Retailer (MNC)

#Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Manage store to provide a high standard
  2. Set, deliver, review store profitability target, sales target, Operating budget
  3. To be responsible and accountable for the merchandising function within the business.
  4. To maximize Sales & Profitability.

Job Details:

  1. Budget:
  2. Understand seasonal budgets and monthly sale estimates as a framework for the season’s activities.
  • Cataloguing and Selection:
  • Ensures seasonal trading reports are produced to pre-agreed timetable in order to assist future buying.
  • Ensures a thorough knowledge of competitor (e.g.: style, pricing, display, customer profile), in order to provide feedback to merchandise team and operations team.
  • Stock Control:
  • Ensures stock commitment is in line with forward sales estimates at store and warehouse
  • Ensures and monitors stock on weekly basis through Management Report System to avoid an overstock or under – stock level.
  • Communicate with the management for control and monitor of supply chain as appropriate.
  • Proposes and suggests action on slow moving merchandise to enhance sales and profitability.
  • Promotion and Marketing:
  • Support corporate sales and marketing promotions to drive footfall and increase sales.
  • Ensures departmental lay out policy is established prior to each selling season.
  • Ensures latest merchandise display methods are incorporated.
  • Ensures internal merchandise promotion reflect desired statement, ensures adequate stock availability for each campaign.
  • Selling, Service and Standard of Presentation:
  • Identifies and exploit commercial opportunities.
  • Anticipates future layout requirement to reflect customer’s buying behavior.
  • Maximizes profitability by driving sales, minimizing operation costs and theft of merchandise in store.
  • Ensures all staff has good knowledge of merchandise (product knowledge) to give the best service to customer.
  • Maintains high standards of visual merchandising.
  • Conducts regular inspections on furniture, fittings, civil and electricals.
  • Administration Control:
  • Monitor and take action to comply with legal and company requirements.
  • Ensures all commercial reports are produced correctly to pre-agreed time scales.
  • Follow up with warehouse to ensure all arriving shipments are cleared and stock is distributed to pre-agreed time scales.
  • Report:
  • Prepares commercial reports on monthly basis and distributes to the management.
  • Prepares and submits weekly report.
  • Developing yourself and others:
  • Leads, motivates, coach & develops staff to meet performance objective
  • Monitors sales staff performance evaluation and identify individual training needs.
  • Communicates and establishes good working relationships with all staff; provide counseling when required.
  • Improves self-performance and knowledge. Take control of personal development and training.
  • Monitor and take action to address the succession needs of the store, in conjunction with the Head HRD.
  • Keep staff informed of company information and store developments.
  • Involve staff in decision making.
  • Action and implement disciplinary procedures.

9.  Teamwork:

  • Participates as a full member of the management team as appointed, build strong teamwork through effective communication on all relevant issues to colleagues, assist in solving problems and decision making process for the business in general.

10. Occasional Duties:  

  • In addition to the aforesaid duties and job functions, any other assignment given occasionally or on a daily basis by the management.

#Educational Qualification:  Graduate/ Post Graduate.

# Experience: Minimum 5-6 years from Retail Sector.
