Job Description

  1. Manage the day-to-day operations of Material Management in designated areas which may include General Office functions, Centralized Inventory Supportand Bed Management/logistics and operation theatre etc.
  2. Establish objectives and strategies for Materials Management in line with Hospitals Dhaka objectives.
  3. Work collaboratively with clinical staff and Supply Chain leadership to develop and maintain programs and processes designed to ensure compliance of service delivery standards.
  4. Review and improve standards on an on-going basis. Serve on intra and interdepartmental committees related to organizational objectives.
  5. Provide administrative support to Accounts & Finance/Supply Chain/Hospitality/Facility management Leadership; serve as a resource to enhance revenue, achieve optimal utilization and reduce costs.
  6. Monitor reports and communicate with concerned staff to ensure sufficient materials are available to service points and inbound raw materials and outbound delivery schedules are maintained.
  7. Establish, implement and supervise programs to document the proper handling of requisitions, orders, receipt and storage of stock. Ensure appropriate inventory levels are maintained and communicate with customers regarding stocking, ordering and deliveries.
  8. Take necessary actions to eliminate delays so as to ensure adherence to service and inventory delivery schedules.  Communicate all changes to staff members to ensure engagement and comprehension.
  9. Assist in coordinating physical inventories and entry of same in accordance with established processes.  Evaluate and report significant inventory variance, identify root cause and take corrective action for inventory discrepancies.
  10. Assist in developing departmental systems, procedures and policies involving production and material handling.  Interface with all departments to stay in process for all systems.
  11. Define responsibilities and functions of subordinate positions and assist in establishing staff requirements and scheduling.
  12. Provide consultation to supervisors in resolution of complex administrative issues.
  13. Perform analysis on performance and quality metrics and execute plans to improve.
  14. Execute the operational aspects necessary to assure financially responsible supply levels in assigned departments.
  15. Benchmark performance measure to track trends and needs for improvement.
  16. Prepare periodic reports such as financial variance, overtime use, and quality metrics.

Educational Requirements

  • Masters in any discipline with good academic background

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 10 - 12 years’ experience with at least 5 years in as managerial position
  • Experience in Healthcare industry / background in Pharmaceuticals will be considered as added advantage.
