Job Description

#Purpose

GM- Medical Services is responsible for ensuring all aspects of functioning of NCPs/ Paramedical and other allied staffs. He is also responsible for ensuring clinical services of patients as per JCI standard. He is directly provide support and assist DMS in day to day activities like Critical Care Bed Management, Complain Handling, Conflict resolution, communicating with external agencies like DG Health, WHO etc.

 

GM- Medical Services is actively involved in credentialing & privileging process of Medical staffs.

 

Responsibilities/Tasks

 

1. Supervise, Monitor and provides leadership in managing all medical services,

 

Paramedical services and other allied services like MRD, Physiotherapy, Dietics etc

 

  • Supervises , monitor & evaluate the day to day activities of NCPs, paramedical staffs , MRD, Pharmacy, Physiotherapy, Dietary and other allied staffs.

 

  • Recruits all medical and paramedical services and other allied staffs in the hospital.

 

  • Annual appraisal of all staffs except Consultant

 

  • Annual Advancement process of all staffs

 

  • Ensures the full implementation of quality control systems and patients safety programs

 

2. Formulates and implements the policies and procedures.

  • Identifies strengths and weaknesses of the existing flow of operations within medical services.
  • Identifies and sets benchmark for improving service standards under leadership of DMS
  • Formulates policies with the appropriate reflection of situational analysis and practice of benchmark organizations
  • Formulates and implements new projects and programs after consulting with relevant stake holders

3. Ensure JCI Compliance

  • Provide training to enhance NCPs knowledge on JCI
  • Review of OMR & CMR to assess the JCI Compliance
  • Gap Analysis and spot training
  • Ensure compliance
  • Attempts for continuous improvement in quality.
  1. Collaborative Governance

 

  • Scheduling of Committee Meeting
  • Monitoring on Minute of Meetings
  • Ensure action taken report for the safety and
  • improvement of Patient care

 

  1. Ensure Patient Satisfaction

 

  • Ensure patient satisfaction on Clinical Services
  • Ensure compliance on discharge timing
  • Ensure patient satisfaction on Discharge process
  • Ensure compliance on discharge medication
  • Complain Handling
  1. Contribute to Hospital growth and Business
  • Ensure 10% growth in overall business of hospital
  • Increase patient in IPD
  • Increase patient in OPD
  • Increase number of  different procedures
  1. Implementation of new PMS among the line managers
  • Collection of new PMS from executive and above
  • Half yearly evaluation as per submitted PMS
  • Developing skilled man power as per departmental needs
  1. Strategic Planning & Decision Making

 

  • To provide different statical l data to senior leaders for decision making
  • To be responsible for all statistical data collection thro MRD ,analyze trends and submit reports to DMS and Apollo Groups
  • To be responsible for sending all reports to Government agencies as per DG health guideline

9. Accomplishes financial management within the department.

 

  • Prepares, manages, and monitors departmental operating budgets in coordination with DMS .
  • Provides inputs to finance department for formulating strategic management of funds and designing tariff for relevant services.
  • Ensures the compliance with the AHD’s policies regarding financial management.
  • Controls inventories and consumption related to own department.

 

10. Facilitates the way of effective and efficient communication channel.

  • Identifies the communication issues proactively and communicates to target groups.

 

  • Acts as liaison between Hospital, the medical staff and outside parties.

 

  • Executes the communication process and context in a manner understandable by target groups.

 

  • Provides inputs to the marketing department for developing communication process andmaterials.

 

  • Increases images of the organization by representing organization in different forums.

Educational Requirements

  • General Manager – Medical Services must be a physician with post graduate degree in Hospital Management.

Experience Requirements

 

  • GM- Medical Services must have at least 18-20 years of medical/administrative background.
